Driving through Ireland on a road trip one year, we passed through many charming little towns. Most of the time we didn't stop, but I snapped a number of photos out the car window. This is one of my favorites. The old man was napping outside of his shop. It was a sunny day (wow huh?) and the contents of his shop window were in full view. I love the movement yet stillness of this painting. The background is painted with impasto technique, yet there is great detail in the old man and the bottles in the shop window.
